Foam fabrication adhesives are used in the automotive industry, in the assembly of foam furniture, including chairs and bedding, office partitions and other specialty applications.
Here are the adhesives American Chemical recommends for foam fabricating:
A general contact adhesive with Excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates. These include, but are not limited to, laminates, particleboard, plywood, hardwood, leather, rubber and metal.
This is a non-flammable, high temperature range adhesive designed for fast-tacking, high strength bonds. It is excellent for bonding foam, felt, fabric, and carpet to each other or to a variety of other substrates such as wood, metal, or fiberglass.
STA'-PUT® S155 Red
STA'-PUT® S155 Red is a solvent-based, high solids contact adhesive. It is specifically formulated for versatility in bonding a wide variety of materials including decorative laminates, plywood, particleboard and rigid plastics. Replaces Conbond 2725 Red.
A two component water based contact bond adhesives where the two components are co-sprayed causing immediate coagulation. This provides that 1) the adhesive will not excessively penetrate porous surfaces and 2) the coated surfaces can be bonded immediately.
A single component, water based, cost effective solution for foam fabricators. It can provide foam tearing bonds within 10 - 20 minutes for cushion and bedding manufacturers.
A modified synthetic latex adhesive designed to replace solvent based adhesives in spray applications. FoamStick provides good green strength within 10 -15 seconds.
Z100 is a low VOC water-based contact cement
A versatile V.O.C free, waterborne contact adhesive that may be used for bonding a wide variety of substrates, which include; decorative laminates, countertops, cabinets, plastics, MDF board, etc.
A hot melt adhesive with a long open time and high heat resistance.
This product is a light colored, low viscosity, multi purpose pressure sensitive adhesive used to bind non-woven materials.
HL7216 bonds well to a variety of substrates and is used for foam to foam bonding and foam to loft bonding. HL7216 features long open time and high hot tack properties. It provides excellent bonds on memory foam.
