Green thinking in our offices: - Recycle all office paper, cardboard and boxes and aluminum cans.
- Filtered water instead of bottled water.
- Magazines and newspapers shared by employees.
- Provides direct deposit to employees, vendors, and customers saving paper and postage.
- Reusable dishes in our break room.
- Everyone in the company is involved in our green plan.
Green thinking in our shipping and warehouse departments: - Reuse boxes that can be reused, break down and recycle the rest.
- Reuse shipping peanuts, offered to us by local retail stores.
- Reuse shipping pallets offered to us by local businesses.
- Recycle all 30 & 55 gallon drums, also recycle totes.
- Keep temperature down in the warehouse during the winter, but above freezing.
- Consolidate ordering raw materials to reduce gas consumption and save on shipping costs.
- Incorporate green into existing sourcing and procurement processes
- Always consider waste stream reduction.
Green thinking in our buildings maintenance: - Exterior building lights changed to low energy fluorescent.
- Changed interior lighting from T12 to T8.
- Maintain flowers and shrubs on grounds for water runoff and reduce erosion.
- Multiple tenants share resources, to conserve in all areas.
- Encourages all other tenants to recycle also.
- Participate in Excel Energy's savings program during the summer months.
Green thinking passed forward to our customers: - Encourage customers to use spray adhesives packaged in returnable canisters.
- Offer our customer green certified alternative adhesives.
- Keeping our customers and sales staff up with new green materials, technologies and processes.
- Keeping our customers aware of current green global regulations.
- Promote sausage packaging of our sealants instead of standard caulking tubes to reduce waste.
- Offer discounts to our customers by bulk ordering, also saving them costly shipping fees.
